Pipe Aston Pottery

A great deal of domestic pottery had been recovered from the Roy's Orchard site. It is all from the pre-industrial period. There is a complete absence of white stonewares, creamwares, and press moulded slipwares. Although the image illustrates the range of wares, it is not typical of the assemblage.

The four large shards from top left to bottom right represent the types most commonly ocurring.

The large jewelled slipware shard shown here came from the fill of the soak away.
