Roy's Orchard:
The Excavation

Excavation of the site of Roy's Orchard began in 1996 with a small evaluation trench designed to establish the nature and extent of the archaelogical deposits. To date, a number of features have been examined, including a stoking pit with drain to keep the workings dry, two kilns built into the wall of a domestic building, and part of a workshop.
